Find a number that 4,7, and 2 have in common

List the multiples o 4,7, and 2

4,8,12,15,20,24,28,32,36,40

7,14,21,28,35,42,49,56,63,70

2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34,36,38,40

4,7,and 2 all have 28 so 28 is the common denominator

1/4 = 1/4 x 7/7 = 7/28

you can multiply because 7/7 = 1 so you are just multiplying by 1

2/7 x 4/4 = 8/28

1/2 x 14/14= 14/28

7/28 + 8/28 + 14/28 = 29/28 or 1 1/28

Hope this helps

Hey there! :)

Answer:

29/28.

Step-by-step explanation:

Starting with:

\frac{1}{4} + \frac{2}{7} + \frac{1}{2} =

Begin by finding a common denominator. A number that contains all of the denominators as a factor would be 28. Change each fraction to contain a denominator of 28:

\frac{7}{28} + \frac{8}{28} + \frac{14}{28} =

Add the fractions:

\frac{7}{28} + \frac{8}{28} + \frac{14}{28} = \frac{29}{28}

Therefore, the fractions sum up to 29/28.
