Think about how diet and weight-loss companies advertise. How do they use bias to sell their products? How would you use skeptic

Diet and weight-loss products use heavy bias in their advertisements. They generally claim that they are the fastest or the only way for effective weight loss. They also often use before-and-after photos as evidence to show how people change by using their products. Most of the time, they show only the body of the person, so it’s questionable whether the before-and-after photos are even of the same person. If they show the results of a research study, we can check who funded the study. If the diet or weight-loss company founded the study, then we can check whether an unbiased group replicated the study before accepting it as a fact. If not, we can see how well the study was designed and whether the company controlled other factors such as the diet or exercise of the participants.

Diet and weightloss advertising puts super skinny models and actors/actresses saying they lost an insane amount of weight using their product. That is completely bias because they aren’t just going to say the model lost weight through other methods of weight loss because they are advertising THEIR product.
I would use skepticism evaluating these ads because I would be skeptical believing that someone lost 200 pounds in 2 months drinking some supplement.

What is true about elements and compounds elements contain two or more compounds conpounds contain two or more elements compound
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

Taking into account the concepts presented in chemistry with respect to elements and compounds, it is possible to affirm that the compounds are formed by two or more elements.

Explanation:

Two or more chemical elements have the ability to bind -by forming bonds- to obtain a compound. This occurs randomly in nature.

The bonds between the elements that form a compound must be stable enough to ensure the stability of the molecule. A chemical compound can only be separated into the elements that form it by chemical processes.

The bonds types that form compounds can be:

 • Ionic bond.
 • Covalent bond.
 • Coordinated covalent bond.
 • Metallic bond.

It is necessary to mention that chemical elements are called atoms, and the bonds between them are molecules. The physical and chemical properties of a compound will be different from the properties of the elements that form it.

1.How would you differentiate your heart rate before and after exercising?
KATRIN_1 [288]
Your heart rate before exercising would probably be the at rest rate of say about 50-60 beats per minute whereas immediately after exercise it could easily be say 115-130 and depending on age there is an optimum heart rate for each age range which decreases somewhat with age. Timing for a full minute your heart rate is best as it will give the actual count whereas if you just do it for 10 seconds and then multply by 6 it would assume it will be consistent whereas it could decrease during the minute so the actual measured count for a full minute is more accurate.
