Answer:

3/5 hour

4 1/3 miles per hour

6 1/15 miles per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the object is travelling at a steady speed of 8 2/3 miles per hour and covers  5 1/5 miles

Recall that distance  = speed * time

hence

5 1/5 miles =  8 2/3 miles per hour * time t

26/5 = 26/3 * t

Multiply both sides by 3/26

26/5 * 3/26 = t

t = 3/5 hour

If the object reduces its speed by 1/2, the new speed

= 1/2 * 8 2/3 miles per hour

= 1/2 * 26/3

= 13/3 miles per hour

= 4 1/3 miles per hour

If the object reduces its speed by 30%, the new speed

= 8 2/3 miles per hour - 30% * 8 2/3 miles per hour

= 0.7 * 8 2/3 miles per hour

= 7/10 * 26/3

= 91/15

= 6 1/15 miles per hour

Clarisse used the ordered pairs (0, 13) and (24, 5) for her trend line. What would be the y-intercept of her trend line?
laila [671]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Remark

You have 2 points to solve the equation y = mx + b. After finding m, use either of the points to find b.

Formula

y = mx + b

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

Solution

  • y2 = 13
  • y1 = 5
  • x2 = 0
  • x1 = 24

m = (13 - 5)/(0 - 24)

m = 8 / - 24

m = - 1/3

y = mx + b

y = -1/3 x + b

Use (0,13)  as the point.

13 = -1/3 * 0 + b

13 = b

The y intercept = (0,13)

If e^(xy) = 2, then what is dy/dx at the point (1, ln2)?
love history [14]
E^(xy) = 2
(xdy/dx + y)e^(xy) = 0

At point (1, ln2), dy/dx + ln2 = 0
dy/dx = -ln2

Ally has 4 times as many pencils as Anna Claire. They have 30 pencils in all. How many pencils does Ally have?
dexar [7]

T = 30

A = 4c

A + c = T

Anna Claire has 6 pencils. Times 4 makes Ally's pencil count. 4 * 6 = 24

24 + 6 = 30. So, you answer is: Ally has 24 pencils.

A company builds rectangular shaped storage buildings for home owners at $20 per square foot. Rick wants to have a storage build
Lynna [10]
First, you find how many total feet Rick can afford. To do this, you do 2000/20 which equals 100. Then, you write your inequality. 100 is less than or equal to 2x+6. Next, you solve your inequality. You subtract 6 on both sides to get 94 equals 2x. To solve this, you divide by 2 on both sides. In this scenario, x stands for the width.
