Answer:

LatTisha works as a Lifeguard

Zack works as a clerk at a grocery store

Steve works as a food server

Mitchel is a construction worker

Step-by-step explanation:

The parameters of the question are;

The names of the four friends are; LaTisha, Zack, Steve, and Michelle

The jobs found are; Food server, Lifeguard, Construction worker, and Clerk at a grocery store

1. The food server person likes his work

2. Zack and the lifeguard have known each other for years

3. Mitchel and the lifeguard are outside most of the time

4. LaTisha and the person working construction met on their job last summer

5. Neither Zack nor the food server worker worked last summer

We have;

Using known names,

Famale names are; LaTisha and Michelle

Male names are; Steve and Zack

Therefore

The food server worker is a guy, not Zack but  likely Steve

Mitchel works outdoors, therefore, she works in the other outdoor employment which is construction

The remaining two occupations are;

Lifeguard and Clerk at a grocery store

Given that Zack is not the lifeguard, we have;

Zack is the clerk at a grocery store

LatTisha is the Lifeguard

Michael is buying a pair of jeans that regularly cost $40. They are on sale for 20% off. If the tax rate is 8%, what is the sale
Anna35 [415]

Answer

Find out the  what is the sale price of the jeans including tax .

To prove

Let us assume that the sale price of the jeans including tax be x .

As given

Michael is buying a pair of jeans that regularly cost $40.

They are on sale for 20% off.

If the tax rate is 8% .

20% is written in the decimal form

= \frac{20}{100}

= 0.20

8% is written in the decimal form

= \frac{8}{100}

= 0.08

Than the equation becomes

x = 40 - 40 × 0.20 + 40 × 0.08

x = 40 - 8 + 3.2

x = 43.2 - 8

x = $35.2

Therefore the sale price of the jeans including tax be $ 35.2 .

If CDE ~ GDF, find ED
qaws [65]

Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

\triangle CDE \sim \triangle GDF.. (given) \\\\\therefore \frac{CD}{GD} =\frac{DE}{DF}.. (csst) \\\\\therefore  \frac{15}{x+3} =\frac{3x+1}{4}\\\\ \therefore   \: 15 \times 4 = (x + 3)(3x + 1) \\  \\ \therefore   \: 60 = 3 {x}^{2}  + x + 9x + 3 \\  \\ \therefore  3 {x}^{2}  + 10x + 3 - 60 = 0 \\ \therefore  3 {x}^{2}  + 10x  - 57 = 0 \\ \therefore  3 {x}^{2}  + 19x - 9x  - 57 = 0 \\ \therefore   \: x(3x + 19) - 3(3x + 19) = 0 \\\therefore   \:  (3x + 19)(x - 3) = 0 \\ \therefore   \: 3x + 19 = 0 \:  \: or \:  \: x - 3 = 0 \\  \therefore   \: x =  -  \frac{19}{3}  \:  \: or \:  \: x = 3 \\  \because \: x \: can \: not \: be \:  - ve \\ \therefore   \: x = 3 \\ ED = 3x + 1 = 3 \times 3 + 1  \\ \huge \red{ \boxed{ ED= 10}}
