512 = 16
x = 1

16x = 512
x = 512 ÷ 16
x = 32

Answer: 32 miles per gallon (B)

50 = 117.50
1 = x

50x = 117.50
x = 117.50 ÷ 50
x = 2.35

To find the miles per gallon, you've got to divide the larger number (512) by 16, and this gives you 32. Therefore, the car is 32 miles to e gallon. You've also got to do this for the second one, and in this case, you've got to divide $117.50 by 50, and this gives you 2.35, which means that a pound of dog food costs $2.35 Hope this helps :)

Can someone please help me with this? It's due tomorrow. Doesn't have to be all of them, I just need an explanation on how to do
snow_lady [41]

First, look at the number inside the parenthesis, for the first problem the answer would be 3 since you have (x+3). Then, move the graph up or down that number. Since you got three for the first one, you move every point on the graph up 3. For the second one, the number is -3, so you move every point down 3. Just keep doing the same thing with every graph. Then you're done!

If you are investing money, would you rather deposit into an account that earns simple interest or compound interest?
Citrus2011 [14]

Answer:

Compound interest.

Step-by-step explanation:

-In compound interest, your money grows more rapidly as the interest already earned also earns a further interest over time for the term of the investment.

-While in simple interest, only the principal amount invested will earn interest over the investment's term>

#Let's say you invest $100 each in A(earning simple interest) and B(earning compound interest), take the term of  both investments to be 5 yrs with both subject to an annual rate of 10%:

-Get the investment amounts in both accounts at the end of 5 yrs:

\#A\\A=PRT+P\\\\=100\times 0.1\times 5+100\\\\=150\\\\\#B\\A=P(1+i)^n\\\\=100(1+0.1)^5\\\\=161.05

Hence, you notice that your earn more in compound interest keeping all other conditions similar.
