Simple...

you have: The angles are supplementary..what is the measure of angle x?

Remember, supplementary means 180°

4x+20+40=180

4x+60=180

4x+60=180
     -60  -60

4x=120

x=30

Thus, your answer.

A 10-foot ladder leans against a wall so that it is 6 feet high at the top. The ladder is moved so that the base of the ladder t
STatiana [176]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The Pythagorean Theorem holds for both positions.

The first configuration is an 6-8-10 right triangle.

The second configuration using the Pythagorean Theorem:

10^2 = (8-2x)^2 + (6 + x)^2

100 = 64 - 32x + 4x^2 + 36 + 12x + x^2

100 = 100 - 20x + 5x^2

5x^2 - 20x = 0

5x(x - 4) = 0

x = 4 feet (we throw out the x = 0 solution as extraneous)

A gym membership costs $25 to join and $14 each month. Write and use an algebraic expression to find the cost of the gym members
lina2011 [118]

Answer:

See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

So we know that a gym membership costs $25 plus $14 each month.

In other words, the one-time cost is $25 and there will be a cost of $14 each month.

We can write this as:

f(x)=14x+25

Where f(x) equals the total cost given the number of months x.

For 6 months, the total cost will be:

f(6)=14(6)+25\\f(6)=84+25\\f(6)=\$ 109

Find the circumference of the circle. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary.
IRINA_888 [86]
I think it’s 25.12 or C

to find circumference u multiply diameter by 3.14.

to find radius you multiply diameter by 2

diameter is 4. multiply diameter by 2 and u get 8

8 x 3.14= 25.12
