wel
11 blue
2 green
7 brown
total is 20 card
7 out of that 20 are brown
so x out of 100% are brown
7/20=x/100 - cross multiply
700=20x

Evaluate
lakkis [162]

A piece-wise function combines more than one functions of different input values.

<em>The value of f(-1) is -3</em>

From the graph, we have the following observations

  • <em>When x = -1, y = -3</em>
  • <em>When x = -1, y = -4</em>

Notice that there is a closed circle at the point where x = -1 and y = -3.

This means that y = -3 is inclusive of the values of y on that particular function

However, there is an open circle at the point where x = -1 and y = -3.

This means that y = -4 is exclusive of the values of y on that particular function

The correct corresponding value of y is when y is inclusive.

Hence, the value of f(-1) is -3

See attachment for the graph of the piece-wise functions

Why the commutative and associative properties don't hold true for subtraction and division
djverab [1.8K]
<span>The commutative and associative properties do not apply to both subtraction and division because once you move around your variables, you will produce different results, whereas in addition and multiplication, any change in position of numbers won't affect the result. The identity properties apply to them because once you add, subtract, multiply, or divide a certain number from any other number, you produce the same result, or, in other words, keep the number's "identity".</span>
