By Newton second law of motion
Force = Mass*Acceleration
=> 20N = 5kg*Acceleration
So Acceleration = 20/5 ( Also Acceleration= Force/Mass)
So 20/5 = 4
So Acceleration = 4m/s^2
Hope it helps you!

If you drop a bouncing ball from a height of 40 centimeters, explain why it can only bounce back up to a height of less than 40
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

Due to energy loss while collision ball will not reach to same height while if there is no energy loss then in that case ball will reach to same height

Explanation:

As we know that initially ball is held at height h = 40 cm

So here we can say that kinetic energy of the ball is zero and potential energy is given as

U = mgH

now when strike with the ground then its its fraction of kinetic energy is lost in form of other energies

So the ball will left rebound with smaller energy and hence it will reach to height less than the initial height

While if we assume that there is no energy loss during collision then in that case ball will reach to same height again

Suppose we have two planets with the same mass, but the radius of the second one is twice the size of the first one. How does th
bogdanovich [222]

The free-fall acceleration on the second planet is one-fourth the value of the first planet.

Calculation:

Consider the mass of planet A to be, M

               the mass of planet B to be, Mₓ = M

               the radius of planet A to be, R₁

               the radius of planet B to be, R₂

The acceleration due to gravity on planet A's surface is given as:

g = GM/R₁²      - (1)

Similarly, the acceleration due to gravity on planet B's surface is given as:

g' = GM/R₂²                           [where, R₂ = 2R₁]

   = GM/4R₁²    -(2)

From equation 1 & 2, we get:

g/g' = GM/R₁² ÷ GM/4R₁²

g/g' = 4/1

Thus we get,

g' = 1/4 g

Therefore, the free-fall acceleration on the second planet is one-fourth the value of the first planet.

To understand the photoelectric effect physiciests should view light as having what type of properties?
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

Particle

Explanation:

To understand photoelectric effect the physicists has to view light as a particle and not wave. The wave nature of the light could not explain the phenomenon of photoelectric effect.

Photoelectric effect is emission of electrons from a material when electromagnetic radiation(Light) is incident on it. These emitted electrons are called photoelectrons.

The explain this effect Einstein proposed that beam of light is can not be a wave propagating through space, but a swarm of discrete energy packets, called as photons.
