Yes Convex Lens Can form virtual images which are magnified, provided the object distance, measured from the optical centre must be less than focal length.

For your question,

let focal length, f = + 6 cm

let object distance be 'u'

let image distance be 'v'

magnification required, m = +3, +ve because image will be erect, according to the property of convex lens:

lara31 [8.8K]
We could use the change of pressure to calculate for the height climbed by the mountain hiker. The change of pressure is given by

p = rho * g * h, where p is the change of pressure, rho is the air density, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and h is the height.

Using the conversion 1 mbar = 100 Pa,

(930 - 780)(100) = (1.20)(9.80)h
15000 = 1.20*9.80*h

h = 1.28 km

Your friend says that for a moving object to continue moving, a force must be continually applied to it. Do you agree with your
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

I would disagree with my friend because that according to Newton's first law, an object in motion will continue to be in motion until stopped by another object/force. If the object is already moving, it will stay in motion until something else stops it. There is no need for a force to be continually applied to it while it's already moving.
