Question

find the volume of a cylinder whose height is 7 cm and radius is 10 cmAnswer:soln

volume of cylinder= pie r ^h where pie = 22/7

height=7 cm

radius=10 cm

now,

volume of cylinder= 22/7*10*10*7cm

V≈2199.11cm³

Genius question: A long level railway bridge passes over a railroad track, which is 100 feet below it and at right angles to it.
nataly862011 [7]

Answer: <u>110 feet per second</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

In this problem we will assume that the car at 45 miles per hour is moving into the x direction with a high of 100 feet, and the train is going in the y direction, so they trajectories will made an angle of 90º.

Now we can calculate the speed of the trains in feet per second so:

S1=\frac{45*5280}{3600}=66

S2=\frac{60*5280}{3600}=88

So we can make a right triangle with sides 66 and 88 and the hypotenuse will be the rate that the trains will separate per second so:

h=\sqrt{66^{2} +88^{2} } =\sqrt{4356+7744}

h=\sqrt{12100}=110

Is important to have in mind that the initial high is not going to change how fast the trains will separate, however, if we are going to calculate the distance we should have it in the calculations.

If t follows a t7 distribution, find t0 such that (a) p(|t | &lt; t0) = .9 and (b) p(t &gt; t0) = .05.
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

a) P(-t_o < t_7

Using the symmetrical property we can write this like this:

1-2P(t_7

We can solve for the probability like this:

2P(t_7

P(t_7

And we can find the value using the following excel code: "=T.INV(0.05,7)"

So on this case the answer would be t_o =\pm 1.895

b) For this case we can use the complement rule and we got:

1-P(t_7

We can solve for the probability and we got:

P(t_7

And we can use the following excel code to find the value"=T.INV(0.95;7)"

And the answer would be t_o = 1.895

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

The t distribution (Student’s t-distribution) is a "probability distribution that is used to estimate population parameters when the sample size is small (n<30) or when the population variance is unknown".

The shape of the t distribution is determined by its degrees of freedom and when the degrees of freedom increase the t distirbution becomes a normal distribution approximately.

The degrees of freedom represent "the number of independent observations in a set of data. For example if we estimate a mean score from a single sample, the number of independent observations would be equal to the sample size minus one."

Solution to the problem

For this case we know that t \sim t(df=7)

And we want to find:

Part a

P(|t|

We can rewrite the expression using properties for the absolute value like this:

P(-t_o < t_7

Using the symmetrical property we can write this like this:

1-2P(t_7

We can solve for the probability like this:

2P(t_7

P(t_7

And we can find the value using the following excel code: "=T.INV(0.05,7)"

So on this case the answer would be t_o =\pm 1.895

Part b

P(t>t_o) =0.05

For this case we can use the complement rule and we got:

1-P(t_7

We can solve for the probability and we got:

P(t_7

And we can use the following excel code to find the value"=T.INV(0.95;7)"

And the answer would be t_o = 1.895

Nadya [2.5K]

Answer: 57 boys

Step-by-step explanation: Lets break it down right

14th from the top with 10 girls in front which means 3 boys are in front and since there are twice as many girls as boys there are 60 girls and 30 boys so 3 boys are ahead which leaves 57 boys below him

there are five boys and ten girls in mr johnsons gym class.the simplified ratio of boys to girls is 1/2. what does this ratio me
inn [45]

Answer:

This ratio means for every boy there are two girls.

There are twice as many girls as there are boys. Backwards, it's there are half as many boys as there are girl.

The simplified ratio is found by reducing the ratio to the lower terms.

5/10 = 1/2

Both sides on the unsimplified ratio are division by 5. When done, it became 1/2.
