A dance academy charges $24 per class and a one time registration fee of $15. A student paid a total of $687 to the academy. Fin
dem82 [27]

Answer:

The student took 28 classes

Step-by-step explanation:

What I did was minus $15 from the $687 total, cause $15 is only a one time registration fee, then 687-15=672, so then I divided 672 by the cost per class, so $24, 672 divided by 24 equals to 28, so the student took 28 classes.

These are all correct. To divide fractions take the reciprocal (invert the fraction) of the divisor and multiply the dividend. This is the quickest technique for dividing fractions. The top and bottom are being multiplied by the same number and, since that number is the reciprocal of the bottom part, the bottom becomes one. Or just use a calculator lol.

I have a coil of steel that is 48 inches wide. The weight of the coil is 10.800 kegs. If I cut the coil a width of 0.5 inches ho
MakcuM [25]

0.1125 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

Let us assume that 48 inches of coil of steel weighs 10.800 kg.

We have to find the weight of 0.5 inch coil.

Step 2:

In this problem we assume that it is given in direct relationship.

Therefore, Problem becomes

48 inches weigh 10.8 kg

0.5 inches weigh X kg

(48 / 0.5) = ( 10.8 / X)

X =  (10.8 × 0.5) / 48

X =  0.1125 kg
