Since you are subtracting a negative you can do it this way. do 7 3/5 - 6 1/5. that leaves you with 1 2/5. so in the end you will have -1 2/5

Given the trinomial, what is the value of the coefficient 'B' in the factored form?. . 2x^2 + 14xy - 36y^2 = 2(x + By)(x - 2y).
soldi70 [24.7K]
The value of the coefficient B is 9.

2(x+By)(x-2y)
=2(x^2 -2xy +Bxy -2By^2)
=2x^2 -4xy + 2Bxy - 4By^2

The original form is 2x^2 + 14xy - 36y^2

-36y^2 = -4By^2
B= 9
-4xy +2Bxy= 14xy
xy(-4 +2B)= 14xy
-4 + 2B = 14
2B = 18
B=9

Reference attached image for the problem.Please show your work for finding the partial area.
-Dominant- [34]

To find the area of a sector of a circle use the next formula:

A=\frac{\theta}{360º}*\pi *r^2

As the given circle has a outside angle 90º (it is not part of the sector of the circle) subtract the 90º from 360º (total angle of a circle) to find the angle of the sector:

\theta=360º-90º=270º

Find the area of the sector with angle 270º:

\begin{gathered} A=\frac{270º}{360º}*3.14*(11in)\placeholder{⬚}^2 \\  \\ A=0.75*3.14*121in^2 \\  \\ A=284.955in^2 \end{gathered}Then, the approximate area of the given sector of a circle is 284.955 square inches

The angle of elevation to the sun is 24°. What is the length of the shadow cast by a person 1.82 m tall? A. 0.81 m B. 1.99 m C.
Zanzabum

Answer:

C. 4.09 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of the shadow cast by a person be x m.

\tan \: 24 \degree =  \frac{height \: of \: person}{length \: of \: the \: shadow}  \\  \\ 0.4452286853 =  \frac{1.82}{x}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{1.82}{0.4452286853}  \\  \\ x = 4.08778693 \: m \\ x = 4.09 \: m
