His actions strengthened the power of the presidential office in American government. The second crowd that showed up at the mansion was made up of Jackson supporters who were dressed in their best clothes.
This is of course subjective, but in general, compromise if often wise
in political situations in which people share resources. It is not wise when violations of basic human rights are involved.
