Answer:

Mitosis is responsible for the growth and repair of the organism. The mitosis in the unicellular organism such as bacteria, mitosis is a type of asexual reproduction which makes identical copy of the organism.

In case of the multi cellular organism, mitosis is used to repair the damaged cells of the body. It helps in the recovery of the body by the process of cell cycle regulation. The cell undergoes various phases and new cells are formed  by the preexisting cells and damaged cells are repaired.

Hence, mitosis in the body of the organism helps in keeping the body healthy.
