THREE MAIN STAGES OF ATTACHMENT STYLES BY MARY AINSWORTH

Mary Ainsworth has identified three main attachment styles which are based on the experiments with infants, which are as follow:

 1. Secure
 2. Insecure avoidant
 3. Insecure ambivalent

Mary Ainsworth has concluded by saying that these styles of attachment are the result of an individual’s early interactions with his mother. The children who come in the category of insecure avoidant are independent of attachment figure, both emotionally and physically. These children exhibit both rejections and clingy behavior during their interactions with attachment figure.

Mary Ainsworth identified three main attachment styles based on her experiments with infants: secure, insecure avoidant and insecure ambivalent/resistant. She also concluded that these attachment styles were the result of early interactions with the mother.

Insecure avoidant children are very independent of the attachment figure, both physically and emotionally. Moreover, they do not seek to be soothed by the attachment figure. On the other hand, the insecure ambivalent infant will often exhibit both clingy behaviour and rejection during interactions with the attachment figure.

Securely attached children trust the attachment figure to be there in order to full their needs. They seek the attachment figure in times of distress and are easily soothed by this figure when upset. This is likely because the attachment figure is sensitive and responds well to the baby's needs.

Eighteen-year-old Alisha was driving through her neighborhood one afternoon and recognized six-year-old Timmy, a member of the C
Tcecarenko [31]

The correct answer is no.

Alisha was under no obligation to help Timmy, there is no such thing like duty to rescue. There is no legal requirement in the United States to help and rescue someone who is in danger. Even in extreme situation, when a person sees a person falling into a river for example, the witness of the situation is no obliged to assist with help.

There are some cases with some important exceptions: if the defendant created the peril he is obliged to come to the plaintiff's aid, if the defendant started to rescue the plaintiff, he must continue to do so, if the defendant is in a special relationship with the plaintiff ( teacher-student, worker-employer), he is under duty to rescue him.

Alisha was under no duty to inform Timmy's parents of the danger facing him but she should have done it nevertheless. She should at least have phoned them if she didn't have the time to stop by. She knew the boy well and she should have cared more. The need to help the boy should have come from her moral guidance and not as a sense of duty to be performed.
