equate equation 1 and equation 2

19.25=4x^{2} +16x+15\\ 4x^{2} +16x+15-19.25=0\\ 4x^{2} +16x-4.25=0

therefore

the answer is the option

Now replace the value of 'j' in one of the original equations,

⇒ 4s + 2(14) = 64

⇒ 4s + 28 = 64

⇒ 4s = 64 - 28

⇒ 4s = 36

∴ ⇒ s = $9

Therefore, one pair of jeans cost $14 and a shirt costs $9
