How does a balanced chemical equation show that mass is conserved
Ronch [10]
Atoms make up the mass of all materials

Atoms cannot be created or destroyed

So in a balanced chemical equation, all atoms are accounted for, and therefore all mass is accounted for and conserved.

Explain ph valore through testing
rosijanka [135]

Answer: pH is a measure of how acidic/basic water is. The range goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. pHs of less than 7 indicate acidity, whereas a pH of greater than 7 indicates a base. pH is really a measure of the relative amount of free hydrogen and hydroxyl ions in the water.

If a bowl of soup saturated with salt at room temperature is heated to a boil, is it still saturated? Explain why or why not.
timama [110]
Actually it pretty much still is saturated with salt at the boiling point, which is just a tad over 100C. That's because the solubility curve for NaCl isn't much of curve. It's more of a nearly horizontal line.

Nonetheless, the solubility curve for NaCl does drift upward slightly as T increases, and so by the time the boiling point is reached, it won't be saturated.

An aerospace engineer is designing a rocket to have three stages. Which is
valina [46]

Answer:

<em>A not reasonable explanation for an aerospace engineer designs a rocket to have three stages is</em>:

  • <u><em>A. To simplify the design of the rocket</em></u>

Explanation:

A <em>three stages rocket</em> permits to separate the fuel compartments. The rocket must be launched with a huge amount of fuel to last the entire travel. Then the initial mass of the rocket and the fuel is considerably large.

As the rocket flies, part of the fuel is consumed and so some compartements may be separated and removed decreasing the mass of the rocket as it flies (<em>option D. </em>is a reasonable explanation), so the rocket only carries the necessary mass (<em>statement B</em>. is a reasonable explanation).

As the rocket moves away from Earth, the gravitational force decreases and, in the space, the amount of thrust needed is lesser, which the aerospace engineers take into account for the design (choice C. is a reasonable explanation).

The only <em>not reasonable explanation to design a three stage rocket</em> is to <em>simplify the design of the rocket</em>: designing a rocket with three modules each with different features, functions, and the detachment mechanisms brings lot of complex problems to solve. So, o<em>ption A. </em>is the correct answer.

The density of a metal is 11.4 g/cm3. How much volume (in cm3) would a sample of 30.5 g have?
julia-pushkina [17]

<u>The Concept:</u>

We are given the density of a sample of the metal = 11.4 grams / cm³

and we need to find the volume occupied by a sample of 30.5 grams

For this solution, we will use dimensional analysis

from the given information, we can also say that the density of the metal is:

1 cm³ / 11.4 grams

If we multiply this value by 30.5 grams, the 'grams' in the numerator and the denominator will cancel out and we will be left with the volume occupied by 30.5 grams of the metal

<u>Solving for the volume:</u>

\frac{ 1 cm^{3} }{11.4 grams}  X  30.5 grams  = (30.5 / 11.4) cm³

Volume of 30.5 grams of the sample = 2.68 cm³
