Saying "a number" is the same as saying "x"
"Three more than a number" is the same as "three more than x"
If you have three more of something (say, marbles) than someone else, then you have their number of marbles plus three more.
Then, "Three more than x" is the same as "three plus x", or "3 + x"

The answer I got was 59.2
How I got it was that I counted how many years it was I got 16 years multiplied it by 3.7 and got 59.2
