The answer is 4. If the relay is 1/4 mile, and each person runs 1/16 mile, then to get the answer you divide 1/4 by 1/6 and get 4. 4 people would be needed to run this relay. Hope this helps! :)

In a large county in Central Pennsylvania, 42% of all registered voters are Democrats and 53% are Republicans. What is the proba
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

Probability [Randomly selected voter affiliated with other party] = 1/20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Percentage of Democrats voters = 42%

Percentage of Republican voters = 53%

Find:

Probability [Randomly selected voter affiliated with other party]

Computation:

Percentage of other party voters = 100% - [Percentage of Democrats voters + Percentage of Republican voters]

Percentage of other party voters = 100% - [42% + 53%]

Percentage of other party voters = 100% - 95%

Percentage of other party voters = 5%

Probability [Randomly selected voter affiliated with other party] = Percentage of other party voters / 100%

Probability [Randomly selected voter affiliated with other party] = 5% / 100%

Probability [Randomly selected voter affiliated with other party] = 1/20

Which form of money came into existence because of goldsmiths receipts?
AveGali [126]
<span>PAPER MONEY.
As wealth increases, owning a large number of gold and silver coins becomes a security problem. As coins are portable, they are also easy to steal. The next step in the development of money was for people to leave their surplus gold and silver coins with a goldsmith who had a reputation for honesty and who operated premises which were secure. The goldsmith would give a receipt, which would entitle the owner to withdraw their coins when they needed them. This was the beginning of paper money.</span>

an airplane is traveling at a constant speed of 600 miles per hour. How many feet does it travel in 10 seconds? Remember that 1
frez [133]
<h2>Hello!</h2>

The answer is:

The airplane will travel 8800 feet in 10 seconds.

<h2>Why?</h2>

It's a conversion exercise, we need to be careful in order to solve it with no mistakes.

First:

We need to remember that 1 hour is equal to 60 minutes, and 1 minute is equal to 60 seconds, so, to calculate how many seconds are in one hour, we need to perform the following operation:

Time=1hour*\frac{60minutes}{1hour}*\frac{60seconds}{nminute}=3600seconds

Second:

We need to convert from miles to feet, we need to remember that 1 mil is equal to 5280 feet.

So, solving we have:

Speed=600\frac{miles}{hour}*\frac{1hour}{3600seconds}*\frac{5280ft}{1mile}=880\frac{ft}{seconds}

Now, calculating how many feet does it travel in 10 seconds, we have:

distance=speed*time\\\\distance=880\frac{ft}{seconds}*10seconds=8800ft

We have that the airplane will travel 8800 feet in 10 seconds.

Have a nice day!
