Answer:

A) Amanda will pay $47.5

B) 0.5

C) $120

Step-by-step explanation:

A) From the graph given, at 45 miles, the total cost of rentage = $142.50

She now splits this cost with 2 of her friends. Thus each of them will pay;

Amount = 142.5/3 = $47.5

So,Amanda will pay $47.5

B) To find the slope, we will pick two points on the graph and use their respective coordinates to find the slope.

Coordinates we pick are;

(0, 120) and (50, 145)

Thus, slope; m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

m = (145 - 120)/(50 - 0)

m = 25/50

m = 0.5

C) The equation for the graph will now be; y = mx + c

Where m is slope and c is y - intercept.

Thus;

y = 0.5x + 120

Coincidentally, c = 120 will be the fixed price of the truck while 0.5x will be the variable cost depending on how many miles are driven.

Thus renting for a day is simply the fixed cost of $120

Answer:

 16. a: (-90°, (4, 3)); b: (90°, (0, 3)); c: (-90°, (0, 0))

 17. a: (down, (4, -1)); b: (right, (4, 3)); c: (up, (5, 2))

Step-by-step explanation:

We don't know what notation you're used to seeing for rotations. Here. we'll use the form [degrees CCW, (center)]. (CW angles are negative.) In any rotation, the center is the point that is invariant (remains in the same place)

16.

a) The tail is invariant, so the rotation is (-90°, (4, 3)).

b) The tip is invariant, so the rotation is (90°, (0, 3)).

c) The origin is invariant, so the rotation is (-90°, (0, 0))

__

17.

a) The tail is invariant, so the arrow is pointing down with the tip at (4, -1).

b) The center is invariant, so the arrow is reversed. It is pointing right with the tip at (4, 3).

c) Point (2, 3) is invariant, so the arrow is pointing up with the center at (5, 0). The tip is at (5, 2).

_____

Additional comment

If you have trouble visualizing these rotations, you might find it useful to trace the arrow on a piece of (semi-)transparent medium (plastic or tracing paper) so that you can move it as required to match the descriptions in the problem statement. A pin, or a dot on your tracing, can serve to fix the center of rotation. A little hands-on never hurts in math and geometry.

Sixty percent of the students at a certain school wear neither a ring nor a necklace. Twenty percent wear a ring and 30 percent
Reptile [31]

Answer:

0.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

60 % wear neither ring nor a necklace

20 % wear a ring

30 % wear necklace

This question can be Solved by using Venn diagram

If one person is choosen randomly among the given student the probability that this student is wearing a ring or necklace is

P\left ( wear \ ring\ or \ necklace )+P\left ( neither\ ring\ or\ necklace)=1

P\left ( wear \ ring\ or\ necklace )=1-0.6=0.4

The sum of probabilty is equal to 1 because it completes the set

Therefore the required probabilty is 0.4
