Transitional epithelium is found in your urinary tract and can change shape with tension (stretches). Pseudostratified columnar has nuclei at different levels of the cell, making it appear stratified. These cells often have cilia and goblet cells, and are found in your respiratory tract.

Answer:

Explanation:

Pseudostratified epithelial tissues are simple epithelium which comprises of long cells that extend to the surface or short cells that do not reach the outer surface. They have a basement membrane, can be ciliated or not and do not have the ability to stretch.

Transitional epithelial tissues on the other hand are compound epithelium that do not possess any basement membrane. They consist of basal, intermediate and surface cells that are capable of stretching and are always not ciliated.

Answer:

The ability of caffeine to inhibit adenosine receptors, plays a very important role in heightened alertness and sleeplessness.

Explanation:

"<em><u>Caffeine</u></em>" (<em>1,3,7-trimethylxanthine</em>) is an alkaloid obtained from plants. It has a chemical formula of C8H10N4O2.

Caffeine is generally <em>hydrophillic</em> but sufficiently <em>lipophilic</em> to pass through all biological membranes and readily cross the blood-brain barrier.

Therefore can bind with the adenosine receptors. Due to the blocking of adenosine inhibitory effects through its receptors held by paraxanthine and caffeine, it indirectly affects the release of <u>norepinephrine, dopamine, acetylcholine, serotonin, glutamate</u> e.t.c.

The release of the above-mentioned hormones have a great impact on the heightened alertness of the body, especially <em>dopamine</em> and <em>serotonin</em>.

Two organisms have analogous structures. A student concluded that these organisms must have a common ancestor is the student cor
arsen [322]

Answer:

The student is wrong, just because the analogous structures of any two organism may have the same structure or even have the some relation between there way of operation or functions.

Explanation:

  • <u>Analogous Structures:</u>

As the similarity between two or more different organisms structure or any organ does not means that they have same ancestors or have the common origin from which the evolve into two different species. Now analogous structures are very much similar in there structure physically, but two different organisms may use them for the same function, which is astonishing to see or observe in way different species.

  • <u>For example:</u>

As the structure of the flipper of a Dolphin has similarity with the phalanges of a human being and with the wings of the bat. As all of them functions for the basic need of movement or locomotion from one point to another. While, all the three species are very much different in there features and are not the same obviously.
