A 215-g sample of copper metal at some temperature is added to 26.6 g of water. The initial water temperature is 22.22 oC, and t
andrezito [222]

The initial temperature of the copper metal was 27.38 degrees.

Explanation:

Data given:

mass of the copper metal sample = 215 gram

mass of water = 26.6 grams

Initial temperature of water = 22.22 Degrees

Final temperature of water = 24.44 degrees

Specific heat capacity of water = 0.385 J/g°C

initial temperature of copper material , Ti=?

specific heat capacity of water = 4.186 joule/gram °C

from the principle of:

heat lost = heat gained

heat gained by water is given by:

q water = mcΔT

Putting the values in the equation:

qwater = 26.6 x 4.186 x (2.22)

qwater = 247.19 J

qcopper = 215 x 0.385 x (Ti-24.4)

              = 82.77Ti - 2019.71

Now heat lost by metal = heat gained by water

82.77Ti - 2019.71 = 247.19

Ti = 27.38 degrees

Two substances, A and Z, are to be identified. Substance A can not be broken down by a chemical change. Substance Z can be broke
Kisachek [45]

Answer;

(3) Substance A is an element and substance Z is a compound.

Explanation;

-A compound is a substance formed when two or more chemical elements are chemically bonded together, such as water, carbon dioxide, methane, etc while an element is a pure chemical substance made of same type of atoms, such includes, oxygen, potassium, hydrogen, carbon, etc.

- Compounds can be broken down or decomposed into simpler substances: elements cannot be broken down chemically into simpler substances .

If you had continued following the water molecule in the Water Cycle Activity, what step do you predict would have occurred next
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:option D is the correct answer, precipitation and it is because water is being released from the cloud into the earth.

Explanation:

PRECIPITATION is the process by which water condenses in the atmosphere. Precipitation can occur in form of snow,fog, dew,rain etc.

Atmospheric water is found in clouds and water vapor. Gradually and systematically the entire atmosphere rotates around the planet. When weather is being formed one of the most common results is precipitation.

In the water molecule activity here, precipitation will occur because water is being released from the atmosphere into the earth.

A student uses a balance to determine the mass of an object as 5.719 grams. the correct mass of the object is 5.586 grams. what
zaharov [31]
The percentage error is given by multiplying relative error by 100%.
Therefore, to get the percentage error we need relative error which is given by dividing the absolute error with the actual value.
Absolute error = 0.133
Percentage error = 0.133/5.586 × 100%
                            = 2.38%
The percentage error is therefore; 2.38%
