What would be the bond line notation for 1-Ethyl-4-isopropylcyclooctane?
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

The bond line notation of 1-Ethyl-4-isopropylcyclooctane is attached below in Figure 1.

Explanation:

In organic chemistry the structures of organic compounds are represented in many ways.

                 i)  Condensed Formula: In this type of representation the structure of organic compound is represented in a text based manner. Each carbon atom is shown separately with other atoms attached to it.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as CH₃CH₂CH₂COOH

ii)  Displayed Formula: In this representation all atoms are shown along with the bonds joining them.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as shown in attached figure 2.

iii)  Structural Formula: This formula is same as displayed formula but in this method carbon and hydrogen are simplified to condensed form and the bonds between carbon atoms are shown.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as shown in attached figure 2.

iii)  Skeletal Formula or Bond Line Notation method: In this method most of the hydrogen atoms are not shown. Each line ending and vertices represents carbon atoms. This is the easiest and common way of drawing organic compounds.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as shown in attached figure 2.

Calculate the mass of the precipitate formed when 2.27 L of 0.0820 M Ba(OH)2 are mixed with 3.06 L of 0.0664 M Na2SO4.
kicyunya [14]
We are given with two reactants :barium hydroxide and sodium sulfate. The products of the reaction via double replacement is barium sulfate and sodium hydroxide. according to the solubility rules the product barium sulfate is insoluble. There is a one to one correspondence to every compound. In this case, we just have to find the limiting reactant and base the calculations there. The mass of the precipitate formed is 0.186 grams BaSO4

If you were asked to convert 25 kg to the unit mg, which of the following would be the first fraction used in the conversion?
Ksenya-84 [330]
Hi Soccerbrandon,

So in order to do unit conversion in this situation, it is best to first convert kg into g and then g into mg. The conversion rates are easy to remember individually for both of them.

There are 1000 g in 1 kg.
There are 1000 mg in 1 g.

So lets use 25 kg as an example:
25 kg times \frac{1000g}{1kg} gives 25000 g in 25 kg.
25000 g times \frac{1000mg}{1g} gives 25000000mg in 25000g.
This gives us the answer that 25000000mg is equal to 25kg.

Hope it helps!!

Why does a salt compound give off light (or a colored flame) when burned? 4. did lithium chloride and sodium chloride give off s
Free_Kalibri [48]

3) Answer is: because elements have different emmision spectrum.

Emission spectrum of a chemical element is the spectrum of frequencies emitted due to an atom making a transition from a high energy state to a lower energy state. Each element's emission spectrum is unique.

4) Answer is: lithium chloride and sodium chloride do not have similar colors.

Lithium ion has red and sodium ion has yellow emission spectrum.

5) Answer is: because metals have valence electrons in different energy shells.

Each transition has a specific energy difference.

6) Answer is: salts of alkaline and earth alkaline metals.

For example barium chloride gives green light.
