A ball is thrown into the air with an upward velocity of 28 ft/s. Its height (h) in feet after t seconds is given by the functio

n h=-16t^2+28t+7. How long does it take the ball to reach its maximum height? What is the ball/s maximum height? Round to the nearest hundredth, if necessary.
A. 1.75 s; 7 ft
B. 0.88 s; 43.75 ft
C. 0.88 s; 17.5 ft
D. 0.88 s; 19.25 ft

The Answer is D:

h = -16t^2 + 28t + 7
h' = -32t + 28

-32t + 28 = 0

-32t = -28

t = .875 seconds

h(.875) = -16(.875^2) + 28(.875) + 7

h(.875) = 19.25 ft
Rounding time to nearest hundredth gives max at (.88s, 19.25ft)

What's the probability of pulling two red cards in a row from a deck of cards?
monitta

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

Let's say that we don't have jokers. In that case, there are 52 cards, and half of them are red (so 26 are red). The probability of pulling a red card once is 1/2 since half the cards are red.

If we pick one out, there are only 51 total cards left and 25 red cards. So, the probability of picking one again would be 25/51.

We multiply the probabilities of these two events to find the probability of them both happening.

1/2×25/51=25/102

The probability of picking two red cards in a row is 25/102 or around 24.5%.

Have a wonderful day! :D

What is the solution of the system of equations c + 4d = 8 and c = 4d - 6
Tema [17]
Rewrite the second equation in same form as the first So we have

c + 4d = 8

c - 4d = -6     Now add:-

2c + 0 = 2
2c = 2

c = 1

Now substitute c = 1 in the first equation:-

1 + 4d = 8
4d = 7

d =  7/4  = 1 3/4

Answer c = 1 and d = 1 3/4  Answer
