Out of the four answers, only increasing the temperature will speed up the dissolution rate. The 4th option will increase the total amount of solute that can be dissolved but will not affect the dissolution rate. The 1st and 3rd options are just wrong.

Answer: Option (a) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

An unsaturated solution is a solution in which solute particles completely dissolve into the solvent.

And, in order to increase the rate of dissolution of an unsaturated solution we can increase the temperature. Hence, there will be increase in kinetic energy of molecules which will lead to more number of collisions.

Thus, it will eventually lead to increase in rate of dissolution.

Thus, we can conclude that increasing the temperature is the factor which increases the rate of dissolution in an unsaturated solution.

Burka [1]
Answer is: ammonia experience only dispersion intermolecular forces with BF₃ (boron trifluoride) because BF₃ is only nonpolar molecule (vectors of dipole moments cansel each other, dipole moment is zero).
The London dispersion force (intermolecular force) <span>is a temporary attractive </span>force between molecules.

The equilibrium constant for the reaction
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer: The concentrations of Cl_2 at equilibrium is 0.023 M

Explanation:

Moles of  Cl_2 = \frac{\text {given mass}}{\text {Molar mass}}=\frac{10g}{71g/mol}=0.14mol

Volume of solution = 1 L

Initial concentration of Cl_2 = \frac{0.14mol}{1L}=0.14M

The given balanced equilibrium reaction is,

                            COCl_2(g)\rightleftharpoons CO(g)+Cl_2(g)

Initial conc.           0.14 M           0 M       0M

At eqm. conc.     (0.14-x) M        (x) M        (x) M

The expression for equilibrium constant for this reaction will be,

K_c=\frac{[CO]\times [Cl_2]}{[COCl_2]}

Now put all the given values in this expression, we get :

4.63\times 10^{-3}=\frac{x)^2}{(0.14-x)}

By solving the term 'x', we get :

x = 0.023 M

Thus, the concentrations of Cl_2 at equilibrium is 0.023 M

Which statements indicate what the fossil record suggests about evolution on Earth? Check all that apply.
Gennadij [26K]

The following are the statements, which indicates that the fossil record suggests about evolution on Earth:

1. Humans have only recently existed on Earth.

2. The organisms originally lived only in Earth's water.

3. The plants did not have flowers when dinosaurs existed.

The fossil remains have been discovered in the rocks of all the ages. The simplest organisms fossils are witnessed in the oldest rocks, and the fossils of more composite species are found in the newest rocks. This supports the theory of evolution suggested by Darwin, according to which the simple life forms slowly gets evolved into more composite ones.
