1 is b) because, 1 3/4 - 2/4(which is the same value as one half) = 1 1/4. I'm genral to be able to subtract different fractions the denominator which is the number on the bottom has to be the same for the fractions if you are adding or subtracting. But for multiplication you just multiply across.

Find the difference between the lengths of the longest and shortest sides of a rectangle if its area is 924 square milimetres an
BigorU [14]

Length =l

Height = h

Area function = l * h = 924

Perimeter function = 2i + 2h = 122

Divide by 2

I + h = 61.

Plug in I or h for the other variable

I * (61 - I) = 924

61i - i^2 = 924

Factor the function

(-I + 28)(I - 33) = 0

l = 33 as l cannot be negative

61 - 33 = 28

h = 28

Difference between h and l is 33-28=5

Problems 1-8, name the sets of numbers to which each number belongs.
posledela

The name of the sets of the numbers to which each of the given number belongs is:

  1. 7 = Natural number. Integer. Rational number.
  2. √23 = Irrational number.
  3. л = Irrational number.
  4. O = Rational number. Integer.
  5. -0.5 = Rational number.
  6. -2.5 = Rational number.
  7. √0.09 = Rational number.
  8. -√0.9 = Irrational number.

<h3>What are sets of numbers?</h3>

These are the various types of number groups that exist for categorizing numbers.

Natural numbers are all positive numbers from 1 to infinity while integers are positive and negative whole numbers. A decimal cannot be an integer as a result.

Rational numbers are discrete which means that they are terminating and eventually stop going while irrational numbers will keep going to infinity and are therefore non-terminating.
