One of the main ideas is to become a hero which is considering that heroes will put the safety of others in the first place and they will rather save someone than themselves. They have faced adversity and become heroes.
Some passengers did manage to overcome their fears which is great successful but other could not do it. Heroes are maybe afraid sometimes and they have also fears like others but they will help anybody.
