Tundra and desert biomes have shallow soil profiles because weathering is limited by a lack of
nalin [4]
Extreme temperature and bedrocks Tundra and desert both have shallow soil profiles because of the extreme temperatures and the bedrocks it has. In the case of tundra, it has extreme cold temperature and the soil were covered in ice in long periods of time. Because of this, the plants were unable to get water from the bedrocks resulting in plants dying. In the desert, however, it has extreme hot temperature making the plants unable to survuve due to lack of water in the environment and in the bedrocks. The plants that can only survive in this temperature are the plants that has the ability to store water in their system.

elixir [45]
The purpose of this feedback would be to deliver the baby.

Uterine contraction will cause the release of oxytocin that in turn will increase the uterine contraction too. This mechanism is called positive feedback because the effect will keep increasing as the time pass. This mechanism will be over when the objective is completed, in this case when the baby delivered.

What is the state of Michigan doing to fix the problem of purple loosestrifes?
saw5 [17]

The state of Michigan has faced a big problem with an invasive species of plant in its wetlands. The plant is seemingly harmless and beautiful, and while there's no argument about the beauty of it, it is actually very destructive toward the local flora and because of it the fauna as well. In order to solve the problem with the purple loosestrifes, the state of Michigan has asked for help from the professionals in the universities to find out a solution. The scientists managed to figure out a way in which they can lower significantly the density of this invasive species and mostly restore the native flora, and the salvation was in certain species of insects. Some insects are natural predators of this plant, thus they destroy it, so several species of insects have been released at the places where this plant had spread out. The effects have been excellent, as the insects did their job properly, managing to reduce significantly the amount of purple loosestifes, enabling the native flora to get its territory back.

What is the fundamental process underlying the movement of the plates?
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

Tectonic plates

Explanation:

Tectonic plates are able to move because the Earth's lithosphere has greater mechanical strength than the underlying asthenosphere. Lateral density variations in the mantle result in convection; that is, the slow creeping motion of Earth's solid mantle.
