Are the expressions x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 1 + x and 5x + 4 equivalent? Why or why not?

Answer:

yes

they are equivalent because lets say the X = 3 then you would have to answer

3 + 3 + 1 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 3

and that would = 19

and then on the other equation

5 x 3 + 4 = 19

So the both equal the same.

Let y = 3t + 6 be a linear function representing the distance from home for an ant t minutes after starting out from a location
ANEK [815]

For this case we have the following equation:

y = 3t + 6

Where we have the following variables:

t: time in minutes

y: distance traveled

We have then that the slope of the line is equal to 3.

The slope of the line represents the speed in feet per minute of the ant.

The speed of the ant is 3 feet per minute.

Answer:

C. The ant is crawling at 3 feet per minute

O perímetro de um campo retangular é de 80 metros e sua area é de 320 metros quadrados. Encontre as dimensões do campo, corrija
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

Comprimento: 28.9 m; Largura: 11.1 m

Step-by-step explanation:

P = 2(C + L) = 80

A = CL = 320

2(C + L) = 80

CL = 320

C + L = 40

CL = 320

C = 40 - L

CL = 320

(40 - L)L = 320

40L - L^2 = 320

L^2 - 40L + 320 = 0

aL^2 + bL + c = 0

L = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}

L = \dfrac{-(40) \pm \sqrt{(-40)^2 - 4(1)(320)}}{2(1)}

L = \dfrac{40 \pm \sqrt{1600 - 1280}}{2}

L = \dfrac{40 \pm \sqrt{320}}{2}

L = \dfrac{40 \pm \sqrt{64 \times 5}}{2}

L = \dfrac{40 \pm 8\sqrt{5}}{2}

L = 20 \pm 4\sqrt{5}

L \approx 28.9 or L \approx 11.1

L = 28.9

C = 40 - L = 40 - 28.9 = 11.1

Answer: Comprimento: 28.9 m; Largura: 11.1 m

A car drove for 20 minutes at a speed of 52 how far did it travel
laiz [17]

Answer:

Oerhaps 17.3333 miles, see assumption below

Step-by-step explanation:

There are no units for 52.  52 m/sec?  52 feet/min?, 52 mph?

Once we have the units for the 52, convert the 20 minutes to the same unit as in the speed unit, hours in this case.  I'll assume miles/hour for the speed here.  So convert 20 minutes into hours:  (1 hr/60min)*(20 minutes) = (1/3) hour.

Now multiply by the 52 mph:

(52 miles/hr)*(1/3 hour) = (52/3) miles or 17.33 miles
