Can you send a picture? I need more information about the article but I am pretty sure that it is A) the French invasion of Germany.

Expansion
The story, 'The Last Lesson' has been set in the background of the Franco-Prussian war that was fought in 1870-71 between Prussia and France. The Prussians captured the districts of Alsace and Lorraine. New orders were issued according to which German language was to be taught in place of French in these two districts. It doesn’t have anything to do with World War l or ll so it have to be A) or D). The Germans didn’t invade Alsace, the Prussians did so D) can’t be it. The only answer left is A) so you’re answer would have to be A).

Answer:

C) to show that Derek succeeded in using the Dream Machine to complete his project

Explanation:

So, the previous paragraphs established the problem of the story; Derek has a project that is due tomorrow, he hasn't even started writing it, he has no idea what to write and his brother presents him with the possible solution - the Dream Machine.

Now, the paragraph 8 shows the way machine works, paragraph 9 shows that the machine works and that in his dream he saw the Olympics - the theme of his project, and paragraph 10 shows his teacher praising him for the job he had done on the project.

These three paragraphs imply that Derek successfully used the Dream Machine which helped him complete his project.

Pepsi [2]

D. They emphasize the idea that bicycles helped blur the gender roles.

Wheels of change is a book about how women started using bycicles to do several things, like working, or for fun, or to protest about injustices, by posing with a stache, and a man´s suit, Frances Benjamin sends a message that she could too do everything a man could do, including riding a bycicle.
