Well, let's take it the other way. If you have a rather low voltage (220 volts -- Europe -- is low) you'd get a high current, which more easily dissipates as heat, resulting in loss of energy. Using a high voltage you have a low current which could easily be transported with almost no loss.

What is heat energy on earth escapes into space
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

Latent heat, along with birds, ride those rising columns of air. This brings up a third and the ultimate mechanism by which the Earth's heat escapes into space, which is electromagnetic radiation. Every object, including the Earth's surface, absorbs and radiates heat electromagnetically

A ball is thrown from the top of one building toward a tall building 50 m away. The initial velocity of the ball is 20 m/s at 40
Vinvika [58]

Answer:

Ball hit the tall building 50 m away below 10.20 m its original level

Explanation:

Horizontal speed = 20 cos40 = 15.32 m/s

Horizontal displacement = 50 m

Horizontal acceleration = 0 m/s²

Substituting in s = ut + 0.5at²

    50 = 15.32 t + 0.5 x 0 x t²

     t = 3.26 s

Now we need to find how much vertical distance ball travels in 3.26 s.

Initial vertical speed  = 20 sin40 = 12.86 m/s

Time = 3.26 s

Vertical acceleration = -9.81 m/s²

Substituting in s = ut + 0.5at²

    s = 12.86 x 3.26 + 0.5 x -9.81 x 3.26²

    s = -10.20 m

So ball hit the tall building 50 m away below 10.20 m its original level

A ball rolls forward in the grass slowing down as it rolls?
olga nikolaevna [1]

Yes it does, uh huh.  It slows down as it rolls.  That's a fact.

In order for the ball to roll forward, it has to push grass out of the way.  That takes energy.  To bend each blade of grass out of its way, the ball has to use a tiny bit of the kinetic energy that it has, so it gradually runs out of kinetic energy.  When its kinetic energy is all gone, it stops moving.
