Answer:

x < -3\frac{3}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

-6x+22\frac{1}{4}+2x > 9\frac{3}{4} +16\frac{1}{2}

Required

Solve for x

-6x+22\frac{1}{4}+2x > 9\frac{3}{4} +16\frac{1}{2}

Collect Like Terms

-6x+2x > 9\frac{3}{4} +16\frac{1}{2}-22\frac{1}{4}

-4x > 9\frac{3}{4} +16\frac{1}{2}-22\frac{1}{4}

Convert all fractions to improper fractions

-4x > \frac{39}{4} +\frac{33}{2}-\frac{45}{4}

Take LCM

-4x > \frac{39+66- 45}{4}

-4x > \frac{60}{4}

-4x > 15

Divide through by -4; When an inequality is divided by a negative number, the inequality changes.

\frac{-4x}{-4} < \frac{15}{-4}

x < \frac{15}{-4}

x < -\frac{15}{4}

Convert to improper fraction

x < -3\frac{3}{4}

The quadratic equation ax^2+32x+c=0 has exactly one solution. If a+c=130, and a>c, find the ordered pair (a,c).
vitfil [10]
Ie 32^2 - 4ac=0 so ac=256 and a+c=130
So, that means:2 equations ac=256 a+c=130 ie c=130-a
So,a(130-a)=256 so 130a -a^2=256 ie a^2-130a +256=0 (a-2)(a-128)=0
Finally,giving a= 2 or a=128 so, a=2 c=128 or a=128 c=2
Since, a>c , a=128 and c=2 ie (128,2)

What are the domain and range of the inequality y < sqrt x+3+1
love history [14]

Given:

The inequality is:

y

To find:

The domain and range of the given inequality.

Solution:

We have,

y

The related equation is:

y=\sqrt{x+3}+1

This equation is defined if:

x+3\geq 0

x\geq -3

In the given inequality, the sign of inequality is <, it means the points on the boundary line are not included in the solution set. Thus, -3 is not included in the domain.

So, the domain of the given inequality is x>-3.

We know that,

\sqrt{x+3}\geq 0

\sqrt{x+3}+1\geq 0+1

y\geq 1

The points on the boundary line are not included in the solution set. Thus, 1 is not included in the range.

So, the domain of the given inequality is y>1.

Therefore, the correct option is A.
