The question is giving us the following scenario: During spring, when Earl's crops were plentiful, he noticed an increased number of rabbits. At night, he also heard an increased number of howls from the coyotes. We see here that the rabits were plentiful when there were a lot of crops and we could guess that the rabits would feed on the crops. So, during the winter, there would be no or less rabits and the same holds for coyotes - no or less coyotes would be seen

Answer: Both the rabbit and coyote population could decrease because the original food supply decreased.

During the spring when there is an ample amount of food available to them, then there will be increased in the rabbit and coyotes population as there will be no competition among them for food.

But during winter the crops would die out so there is a scarcity of food and there is competition among the rabbit and coyotes population for the food, as a result of that their population started to decline from that area.

beks73 [17]

Answer:

(2) exchange food, oxygen, and waste between

mother and fetus

Explanation:

In most mammals like humans, the fetus produced as a result of the fertilization of the sperm and egg, develops in the uterus or womb of the female. However, this developing fetus cannot yet fend for what it requires for survival and is still dependent on the mother e.g nutrients, oxygen etc. How do this substances get to the fetus? Here comes the role of the PLACENTA.

Placenta is an organ in the uterus that serves as a connection between the mother and the fetus in her womb. The placenta enables the mother to pass digested nutrients to the fetus and exchange gases (oxygen and Carbondioxide) between them via the umbilical cord. The placenta also enables the mother remove waste produced by the fetus into her bloodstream.

Describe how you get energy indirectly from the food that you eat
lidiya [134]
Since we are not able to get energy directly from the food we eat, a particular process needs to take place that converts molecules to Adenosine triphosphate, also known as ATP. This requires that the food first be broken down by being digested. As digestion takes place, the body uses the small molecules to make ATP.
