What is the substance through which sound travels?
Ann [662]

Answer:

Sound waves need to travel through a medium such as solids, liquids and gases. The sound waves move through each of these mediums by vibrating the molecules in the matter. The molecules in solids are packed very tightly. Liquids are not packed as tightly.

Explanation:

Hope this helped, Have a Great Day!!

Your bedroom gets direct sunlight through a window during the hottest part of the day. You ask your mom to turn down the thermom
ycow [4]
I want to say its cooled by reflection because of the foil, sun reflects off of the foil back into the atmosphere. I don't think it's conduction because I have the foil on my windows and it's never warm to the touch. it's not a liquid so I don't believe it's convection. The foil reflects the radiation so I don't think it's b, c or d. so I wanna say A but I'm not 100% sure

Consider a platinum wire (σ= 1.0 × 107 Ω-1·m-1) with a cross-sectional area of 1 mm2 (similar to your connecting wires) and carr
Ivan

Answer: 0.03 N/C

Explanation:

We use the current density formula to solve this question.

I/A = σ * E

Where,

I = current flowing in the circuit = 0.3 A

A = cross sectional area of the wire = 1 mm²

σ = resistivity of the wire = 1*10^7 Ω^-1·m^-1

E = strength of the electric field required

I/A = σ *E

E = I/(A * σ)

First we convert area from mm to m, so that, 1*10^-3 mm = 1*10^-6 m

E = 0.3 A / (1*10^-6 m * 1*10^7 Ω^-1·m^-1)

E = 0.3 A / 10 Ω^-1

E = 0.03 N/C

Moment of inertia describes Select one: a. How the mass of an extended object is distributed about a rotation axis. b. How a for
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer: a. How the mass of an extended object is distributed about a rotation axis

Explanation: Moment of inertia is defined as the measure of the rotational inertia of a solid object, it is a quantity that defines the torque needed to reach a desired angular acceleration around a given rotation axis, and it depends mainly on the mass distribution of the object, so the correct answer is: "how the mass of an extended object is distributed about a rotation axis"

koban [17]

Consult the attached free body diagram.

By Newton's second law, the net force on the crate acting parallel to the surface is

∑ F[para] = (370 N) cos(-20°) - f = 0

(this is the x-component of the resultant force)

where

• (370 N) cos(-20°) = magnitude of the horizontal component of the pushing force

• f = magnitude of kinetic friction

The crate is moving at a constant speed and thus not accelerating, so the crate is in equilibrium.

Solve for f :

f = (370 N) cos(-20°) ≈ 347.686 N

The net force acting perpendicular to the surface is

∑ F[perp] = n - 1480 N - (370 N) sin(-20°) = 0

(this is the y-component of the resultant force)

where

• n = magnitude of normal force

• 1480 N = weight of the crate

• (370 N) sin(-20°) = magnitude of the vertical component of push

The crate doesn't move up or down, so it's also in equilibrium in this direction.

Solve for n :

n = 1480 N + (370 N) sin(-20°) ≈ 1606.55 N ≈ 1610 N

Then the coefficient of kinetic friction is µ such that

f = µn   ⇒   µ = f/n ≈ 0.216
