While investigating the chemical and physical properties of metallic element E, a student conducts an experiment by combining E(

s) and HBr(aq), which react according to the following equation:
2E(s) + 2HBr(aq)----> 2EBr(aq)+H2(g)
a)write the net-ionic equation for the reaction.
b)in the reaction, is E(s) being oxidized or reduced? Justify your answer in terms of oxidation numbers.

Why does pressure build up around the plates?
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer: The correct answer is

Earthquakes occur along fault lines, cracks in Earth's crust where tectonic plates meet. They occur where plates are subducting, spreading, slipping, or colliding. As the plates grind together, they get stuck and pressure builds up. Finally, the pressure between the plates is so great that they break loose.

Pressure has the most influence on the solubility of which type of solute?
Scilla [17]
I think that pressure will affect the solubility of gasses the most. The reason why I think this is that gasses are affected the most by pressure change. By definition solids and liquids are not easily affected by pressure by how close the molecules are to each other in both of those phases.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions or need any clarification.

what type of element can turn into both solid and liquid form depending on the temperature of its surroundings ?
lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

An Atom can turn into both solid and liquid form depending on the temperature of its surroundings

Explanation:

Scientists have discovered a new state of physical matter in which atoms can exist as both solid and liquid simultaneously. Researchers have found, however, that some elements can, when subjected to extreme conditions, take on the properties of both solid and liquid states.

If you mixed three Dixie cups’ contents together containing 0.05L of 1.0M lemonade, 0.05L of 2.5M lemonade, and 0.05L of 0.5M le
viva [34]

Molarity of the resulting solution will be 1.33 M.

Explanation:

First we have to find the number of moles for each of the solution using the formula, moles = molarity × volume

For cup 1 = 1 M ×0.05 L = 0.05 moles

For cup 2 = 2.5 M × 0.05 L= 0.125 moles

For cup 3 = 0.5 M × 0.05 L = 0.025 moles

Total moles = 0.05 + 0.125 + 0.025 = 0.2 moles

We have to find the total volume as, 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 0.15 L

Now we have to find the molarity as, moles / volume = 0.2 moles/ 0.15 L = 1.33 M
