Answer:

Yes. Since for a substance to be a Bronsted-Lowry acid they have to be able to donate protons, and to be a Lewis acid a substance would have to accept electrons, there are substances which cannot donate protons but can accept electrons.

In 36 hours the amount of radioactive substance has reduced from 80 mg to 10 mg. What is the half-life of this isotope?
rusak2 [61]
Half-life refers to the time taken for half of the atoms in a radioactive substance to decay. Therefore in 1 half-life the 80 mg of substance will reduce to 40 mg. In another half-life it will reduce from 40 mg to 20 mg, then in a third half-life from 20 mg to 10 mg. Therefore the half-life is equal to the total time taken to decay from 80 mg to 10 mg divided by 3:
t(1/2) = 36 hours / 3 = 12 hours.

If a sample of oxygen occupies a volume of 85.0 L at a pressure of 67.4 kPa and a temperature of 245K , what volume would the ga
Firdavs [7]

Answer: V2 = 35.54L

Explanation:

Applying

P1= 67.4, V1= 85, T1= 245, P2= 179.6, V2= ?,. T2=273

P1V1/ T1= P2V2/T2

Substitute and simplify

(67.4*85)/245 = (179.6*V2)/273

V2= 35.54L

Answer:

Forces acting on an object may be balanced or unbalanced. When the forces acting on an object have equal strength and act in opposite directions, they are balanced. These forces cancel out one another, and the motion of the object does not change. When the forces acting on an object are unbalanced, they do not cancel out one another. An unbalanced force acting on an object results in the object’s motion changing. The object may change its speed (speed up or slow down), or it may change its direction. Friction is a force that resists the motion or the tendency toward motion between two objects in contact with each other. Gravity is a force that pulls objects toward one another. For example, Earth pulls all objects toward it.
