Explanation:

Social inequality is a by-product of one’s social

status which is determined by one’s economic status.

If we look at it from a different dimension, people who with

their accumulated privilege such as race, religion, culture etc. strengthened their economic status.

A typical example is the American society where the white people have an invisible white advantage which they accumulated

over a period of years when the African Americans were discriminated and the native Americans were forced to change themselves.

Cultural anthropology is a branch of anthropology which deals with the study of how people developed cultural systems, and the influence the cultural systems have on their way of life and their environment. It involves the study of the evolution of the cultures of people and their society over time.

The passage refers to the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee and published in 1960.

The context makes it clear that varmints refer to rats. This is firstly supposed by noting that the Ewell family is very poor and live in precarious situation, especially in terms of hygiene and safety. Secondly, the excerpt itself relates that the varmints are kept out with greasy strips of cheese cloth, which is only able to stop small animals, not humans nor monsters.
