ONE GEOMETRY QUESTION PLEASE I'M FAILING AND HAVING A MENTAL BREAKDOWN AS WE SPEAK AAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAA
Zinaida [17]
So this circle has two lines, called tangent lines, coming off of it. How do we know they're tangent lines? They each just touch the circle at a single point (and make a right angle with a radius at that point), R for one, T for the other. And these two lines make an angle. We are asked to find the measure of this angle.

Once you learn this rule, you can apply it easily. The theorem states that if two secant lines, tangent lines, or one of each form an angle outside of the circle, then that angle is half the major arc minus the minor arc \frac{1}{2}(major \ arc \ - \ minor \ arc). That sounds confusing, I know, but basically we take the major arc TR, which has to be 360° – 134° = 226° (remember, the total has to be 360°, and one piece is 134°), and subtract the minor arc TR, which is 134°, so we get 92°. Remember, we want half of the difference, so half of 92°, which is 46°.

I really hope you are able to pass. Reach out to your teacher, use online resources like Khan Academy, ask classmates, and so on. Best of luck on your gradation!

Initially a pool contains 340 gallons of water. A hose is placed in the pool, and the water is turned on. The hose adds 5.2 gall
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer: Amount of water that is turned in a minute is 5.2d. Given the fact that initially was 350 gallons of water everything you pour needs to be added to the initial amount. So the answer is V(x) = 350 + 5.2x

Danny’s supermarket has 1 litter water bottles normally priced at $1.50 reduced 25%
geniusboy [140]

Answer: Danny's supermarket

Step-by-step explanation:

Danny's price- 0.75x1.5= $1.12 for 1 liter water bottle

Marta's price- $1.50 for 1.25 liter water bottle

1.12x1.25=1.40, if Danny was selling a 25% bigger bottle(making the bottle size equal to Marta's) it would cost $1.40, the lower price

A baker buys 19 apples of two different varieties to make pies. The total cost of the apples is $5.10. Granny Smith apples cost
Natasha2012 [34]

The baker bought 7 gala apples, and 12 granny smiths apples

Solution:

Let "x" be the number of gala apples bought

Let "y" be the number of granny smith apples bought

Cost of 1 gala apple = $ 0.30

Cost of 1 granny smith apple = $ 0.25

A baker buys 19 apples of two different varieties to make pies

Therefore,

number of gala apples bought + number of granny smith apples bought = 19

x + y = 19 --------- eqn 1

The total cost of the apples is $5.10

Therefore, we can frame a equation as:

number of gala apples bought x Cost of 1 gala apple + number of granny smith apples bought x Cost of 1 granny smith apple = 5.10

x \times 0.30 + y \times 0.25 = 5.10

0.3x + 0.25y = 5.1 -------- eqn 2

Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2

From eqn 1,

x = 19 - y ---------- eqn 3

Substitute eqn 3 in eqn 2

0.3(19 - y) + 0.25y = 5.1

5.7 - 0.3y + 0.25y = 5.1

5.7 - 0.05y = 5.1

0.05y = 5.7 - 5.1

0.05y = 0.6

y = 12

Substitute y = 12 in eqn 3

x = 19 - 12

x = 7

Thus the baker bought 7 gala apples, and 12 granny smiths apples

The perimeter of an isosceles trapezoid is 28 in and the ratio of lengths of its bases is 5:3. Find the lengths of the sides of
Natalka [10]
The measurements are:
b₁ = 8.4 inches; b₂ = 14 inches; leg₁ = 2.8 inches; leg₂ = 2.8 inches

Let x = length of base and leg

The formula for perimeter of isosceles trapezoid is P = b₁ + b₂ + 2(leg)
Where: b = base

       P = b₁ + b₂ + 2(leg)
     28 = 3x + 5x + 2(x)
     28 = 8x + 2x
28/10 = 10x/10
    2.8 = x

Now, substitute the values:
       P = b₁ + b₂ + 2(leg)
     28 = 3(2.8) + 5(2.8) + 2(2.8)
     28 = 8.4 + 14 + 5.6
     28 = 28

Hence the measurements are:
b₁ = 8.4 inches; b₂ = 14 inches; leg₁ = 2.8 inches; leg₂ = 2.8 inches
