How many kilograms of 30% salt solution by mass and 40% salt solution by mass

Mathematics
1 answer:
Zarrin [17]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

60 kilograms of the 30% solution

140 kilograms of the 40% solution

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x = the no. of kilos containing 30% salt (solution 1)

and 200 - x = the no. of kilos containging 40% salt solution 2)

.30x = amount of salt in solution 1

.40(200 - x) = amount of salt in solution 2

.37(200) = amount of salt in the final mixture

salt in solution 1 + salt in solution 2 = salt in final mix.

.30x + .40(200 - x) = .37(200)

Let's multiply thru the equation by 100 to remove the decimal fractions

30x + 40(200 - x) = 37(200)

30x + 8000 - 40x = 7400

-10x = -600

x = 60 kilograms of the 30% solution

200 - 60 = 140 kilograms of the 40% solution

A pair of dice is rolled. Find the probability for P(not 2 or not 12)
irakobra [83]

Answer:

There’s only one way to get 12 when 2 dice are tossed, both have to equal 6. There are 6 ways tossing a single die can come out (1,2,3,4,5,6), so if you toss dice, the second die could have any one of six values with each of the numbers that could result from the first toss (e.g., 1 from die 1 and 1,2,3,4,5, or 6 from die 2). So, considering there are 6 ways to fill each of two slots, there are 6 x 6 = 36 possible outcomes of tossing two dice. Only one of them equals 12, so p(12 given 2 dice tossed) = 1/36 = 0.02777777777778.

In the statement, “Weight is a function of height,” which variable is the input and which is the output?
3241004551 [841]

Answer:

A. Height is input, Weight is output

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the statement,

"Weight is a function of height".

As we know,

<em>In a function of the form y=f(x), the input variable is 'x' and the output variable is 'y'.</em>

If we write the given statement in the form y=f(x), we get,

Weight=f(Height)

This means that the input variable is 'Height' and the output variable is 'Weight'.

Hence, option A is correct.

David made a class banner out of a large rectangular piece of paper. He cut a
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

100 in²

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the banner is equal to the area of the initial rectangle minus the area of the cutout triangle.

The rectangle has a height of 8 inches and width of 14 inches, so its area is:

A = (8 in) (14 in) = 112 in²

The triangle has a base of 8 inches and a height of 3 inches, so its area is:

A = ½ (8 in) (3 in) = 12 in²

So the area of the banner is 112 in² − 12 in² = 100 in².
