Who is SohCahToa Joe? on Csi geometry:trigonometry I need the answers.
love history [14]
SohCahToa is an acronym for the basic trigonometric functions which are sine, cosine, and tangent. Sine's value comes from the quotient of the opposite side and the hypotenuse. Cosine's value comes from the quotient of the adjacent side and the hypotenuse. Lastly, Tangent is the quotient of the opposite side and the adjacent side.

Please show the steps!!
Mashutka [201]

1. 1/5 = x - 9 / x

2.  Cross multiply x = 5 (x - 9)

3. Distribute x = 5x - 45

4. Move the variable and change the sign x - 5x = -45

5.  Add like terms -4x = -45

6. Divide x = 45 / 4

So the solution is x = 45 / 4 or 11.25

Find two integers whose sum is -13 and product is 40
Umnica [9.8K]
Let us say, the numbers are "a" and "b"
their sum is -13
a + b = -13

their product is 40
a * b = 40 \bf \begin{cases}
a+b=-13\\
a\cdot b=40\implies b=\frac{40}{a}\\
then\\
------------\\
a+\boxed{b}=-13\implies a+\boxed{\frac{40}{a}}=-13
\end{cases}

solve for "a",
what is "b"? well, b = 40/a :)
