Prove the sum of two rational numbers is rational where a, b, c, and d are integers and b and d cannot be zero. Steps Reasons 1.
harkovskaia [24]

Answer:

\dfrac{ad+bc}{bd}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let \frac{a}{b} and \frac{c}{d} be two rational numbers, where b and d are not zero and a, b, c and d are integers.

1. Given:

\dfrac{a}{b}+\dfrac{c}{d}

2. Multiply to get a common denominator :

\dfrac{a}{b}+\dfrac{c}{d}=\dfrac{ad}{bd}+\dfrac{cb}{db}

3. Simplify:

\dfrac{a}{b}+\dfrac{c}{d}=\dfrac{ad}{bd}+\dfrac{cb}{db}=\dfrac{ad+bc}{bd}

4. Since b\neq 0,\ d\neq 0, then bd\neq 0.

If a,b,c,d are integers, then bd, ad,bc, ad+bc are integers too. So the fraction

\dfrac{ad+bc}{bd}

is a rational number

How do you do this question?
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

∫₁⁵ 2t (t² + t³) dt

Step-by-step explanation:

The area is ∫ₓ₁ˣ² y dx.  To parameterize, replace x₁ and x₂ with t₁ and t₂.  Replace y = f(x) with y = f(t), and replace dx with (dx/dt) dt.

x = 5 + t², so dx = 2t dt.

∫₁⁵ (t² + t³) (2t dt)

∫₁⁵ 2t (t² + t³) dt

Can someone please help with my math homework? this is so confusing.
nexus9112 [7]
Hi there friend, your answer for perimeter is 18.

I’ve included a graph below to help explain why but basically if you count the squares, each side measures 4 1/2 units so if you multiply 4 1/2 units by 4(the number of sides) you get 18.
