Step-by-step explanation:

Hi there!

The given equation is:

y = -2x + 5………………(i)

Comparing the equation with y = mx+c, we get;

m1 = -2

Also another equation of the line which passes through point (-4,2), we get;

(y-2) = m2(X+4)............(ii) { using the formula (y-y1) = m2(x-x2)}

According to the question, they are perpendicular to eachother, So according to the condition of perpendicular lines;

m1*m2 = -1

-2*m2 = -1

or, m2 = 1/2.

Therefore, m2= 1/2.

Now, keeping the value of m2 in equation (ii).

(y-2) = 1/2(x+4)

y = (1/2)x + 4

Therefore, the required equation is: y = (1/2)x + 4.

Write the equation of the line that has a slope of 2 and passes through the point (-3,4).
Arte-miy333 [17]

Answer:

y = 2x + 10

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the slope of the line and the coordinates of one point on the line.  Thus, we use the point-slope formula y - k = m(x - h).  Here m = 2, h = -3 and k = 4.  Therefore we have:

y - 4 = 2(x + 3)

which can be rewritten as y = 2x + 6 + 4, or y = 2x + 10 (Answer D)

What does h(3.2) represent?
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

the height of the rock 3.2 seconds after it is propelled

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The complete question is</em></u>

The function h(t) = –16t2 + 28t + 500 represents the height of a rock t seconds after it is propelled by a slingshot

Let

t------> the time in seconds

h----> the the height of a rock after it is propelled by a slingshot in meters

we know that

h(t)=-16t^{2} +28t+500

For x=3.2\ sec

Find the value of h(t)

h(3.2)=-16(3.2)^{2} +28(3.2)+500=425.76\ meters

therefore

h(3.2) represent the height of the rock 3.2 seconds after it is propelled

The Social Security Administration increased the taxable wage base from $106,800 to $110,100. The 6.2% tax rate is unchanged. Jo
Rzqust [24]

Answer:

The Social Security Administration increased the taxable wage base from $106,800 to $110,100.

A:

The percent increase in the base =

\frac{110100-106800}{106800}\times100=3.09%

B:

Previous year tax = 0.062\times106800=6621.60 dollars

This year tax = 0.062\times110100=6826.20 dollars

Increase in tax = 6826.20-6621.60=204.60 dollars

Hence, Joe’s increase in Social Security tax for the new year is $204.60.
