A skateboard halfpipe is being designed for a competition. The halfpipe will be in the shape of a parabola and will be positione

d above the ground such that its focus is 20 ft above the ground. Using the ground as the x-axis, where should the base of the halfpipe be positioned? Which equation best describes the equation of the halfpipe?

Answer:

Option A , (0, 20); y equals one over eighty times x squared plus 20

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of parabola is given by

(X-h)^2 = 4p(Y-k)^2

In this case h = 0

So we get

Y = X^2/4P +k

Focus point is (h, p+k) , p+k = 40

Hence h, k = (0,20)

P = 40-k = 20

Equation Y = X^2/80 +20

Hence, option A is correct

Answer:

A= 4

B= 18

This is just basic math, so I didn't write it out step by step. I also didn't use a specific method in math, so I can't answer those questions for you. But there is the answer to the actual question.

A bacteria population is 2000 at time t = 0 and its rate of growth is 1000 · 5t bacteria per hour after t hours. what is the pop
natima [27]

Since you are given the rate of growth, the population must be computed from the integral ...

\displaystyle p(t)=2000+\int_{0}^{t}{\left(1000\cdot 5^{t}\right)}\,dt=2000+\frac{1000}{\ln{(5)}}\cdot \left(5^{t}-1\right)\\\\=2000+\frac{1000}{\ln{(5)}}\cdot 4\approx 4485\qquad\mbox{after 1 hour}

Please help this is so confusing to me
Stels [109]

First multiply C by F by multiplying each row in C by each column in F:

12 * -2 + 0*0 + 1.5*2   12*0 + 0*8 + 1.5*1

1*-2 -6*0 +7.2       1*0-6*8 +7*1

to get a matrix of:

-21   1.5

12   -41

Now subtract that matrix from B:

2- -21 = 2+21 = 23

8 - 1.5 = 6.5

0.6 - 12 = -11.4

3 - -41 = 3+41 = 44

So you have:

23   6.5

-11.4   44

Which makes C the correct answer.
