Answer:

r = 100

6.5r = 650

Step-by-step explanation:

let r be resistors.

6.5r + r = 750

Simplify:

6.5r + r = 750

7.5r = 750

------   ------

7.5     7.5

   r = 100

100 × 6.5 = 650

One resistor is 100 ohms, and he other is 650 ohms.

Hope this helped.

G I V E N :

The sum of two resistors in 750 ohms. One is 6.5 times the other. Find the size of each resistor in ohms.

S O L U T I O N :

According to the question, here we need to take a variable to find the size of each resistor then multiply 6.5 with the variable with the first one. For the second there is no change in the variable. Then adding them we get 750 ohms. Simplifying we get their respective size

Let us assume the other resistor's size be x

Here,

The First resistor's size is 6.5 times the other. Hence, the no. is 6.5x

Given that : the sum of two resistors in 750 ohms

  • 1st Resistor + 2nd Resistor = 750 ohms

  • 6.5x + x = 750 ohms

  • 7.5x = 750 ohms

  • x = 750/7.5 ohms

  • x = 100 ohms

FINDING SIZE :

First Resistor's Size = 6.5x = 6.5*100 = 650 ohms

Other Resistor's Size = x = 100 ohms

If a town starts with population of 63,500 that declines by 700 people each year, construct an equation to model its population
ankoles [38]

The equation would be 63500-700x=P, where 63500 is the original population, -700 is the amount the population decreases each year, x is the number of years, and P is the total population.

To answer the second part of the question, plug in 53000 for P and solve for x:

63500-700x=53000

*Subtract 63500 from both sides*

-700x=-10500

*Divide both sides by -700*

x=15

It would take 15 years for the population to drop to 53000.

Hope this helps!!
