White leaf disease is caused by phytoplasma. The disease infects the leaves and create white spots in them.

The farmers in Thailand are facing this issue with sugarcane crops. The organisms infect phloem tissues in sugar cane and cause the leaves to turn white.

The size and shape can change as sometimes there are fine white lines created while sometime there are white spots.

Scientists are trying to deal with such disease and an spray of liquid copper has been found beneficial to treat this disease. The white spot fungus stops to spread with the spray.

How does loseing laforin give you epilepsy ( please use lots of detail in the answer)
Deffense [45]
<span>Lafora disease is the most severe teenage-onset progressive epilepsy, a unique form of glycogenosis with perikaryal accumulation of an abnormal form of glycogen, and a neurodegenerative disorder exhibiting an unusual generalized organellar disintegration. The disease is caused by mutations of the EPM2A gene, which encodes two isoforms of the laforin protein tyrosine phosphatase, having alternate carboxyl termini, one localized in the cytoplasm (endoplasmic reticulum) and the other in the nucleus. To date, all documented disease mutations, including the knockout mouse model deletion, have been in the segment of the protein common to both isoforms. It is therefore not known whether dysfunction of the cytoplasmic, nuclear, or both isoforms leads to the disease. In the present work, we identify six novel mutations, one of which, c.950insT (Q319fs), is the first mutation specific to the cytoplasmic laforin isoform, implicating this isoform in disease pathogenesis. To confirm this mutation's deleterious effect on laforin, we studied the resultant protein's subcellular localization and function and show a drastic reduction in its phosphatase activity, despite maintenance of its location at the endoplasmic reticulum.

A researcher found a method she could use to manipulate and quantify acetylation and methylation in embryonic cells in culture.
Gemiola [76]

Answer:a) decreased chromatin condensation

Explanation:

During eukaryotic cell division a chromatin becomes obvious and it is simply a mass of genetic material made up of DNA and proteins which condenses to form chromosomes.

The chromatin primarily function in the compression the DNA into a unit so compacted that will be so tiny and can fit within the nucleus.

Chromatin condensation is driven by condensins and interactions between histones.

Condensins however, are large protein complexes whose central role in cell division is chromosome organization and segregation.

Chemical manipulation as stated above is decreases the rate of chromatin condensation.
