How many solutions does this equation have?

Mathematics

The answer is infinitely many solutions because 0 = 0.

If you don't seem to see where I got 0 = 0, look at the equation,

4b – 4b = 0

first lets do the math on the left side.

4b - 4b  is equal to 0.

so lets put 0 on the left side, now lets look at the equation all together,

0 = 0,

and this means that it has infinitely many solutions.

The reason why it is not no solution because no solution means when there are no answers to the equation. For example, the solution is not true, such as the equation 24 ≠ 29. This is a no solution equation. One solution can be 4x = 20, as x = 5, concluding it being one solutions.

What is x in the similar triangles? Please help:)
topjm [15]

Answer:

x = 18

Step-by-step explanation:

Since both right triangles are similar, therefore:

\frac{2x - 6}{20} = \frac{39}{x + 8}

Cross multiply

(2x - 6)(x + 8) = 39*20

2x(x + 8) -6(x + 8) = 780

2x^2 + 16x - 6x - 48 = 780

2x^2 + 10x - 48 = 780

Subtract 780 from both sides

2x^2 + 10x - 48 - 780 = 0

2x^2 + 10x - 828 = 0

2x^2 + 46x - 36x - 828 = 0

2x(x + 23) - 36(x + 23) = 0

(x + 23)(2x - 36) = 0

x + 23 = 0

x = -23

Or

2x - 36 = 0

2x = 36

x = 18

In the lab, Debra has two solutions that contain alcohol and is mixing them with each other. Solution A is 10% alcohol and Solut
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

  800 mL

Step-by-step explanation:

Let b represent the amount of solution B added to 2400 mL of solution A. The total amount of alcohol (mL) in the mixture is ...

  10%×2400 + 50%×b = 20%×(2400 +b)

multiplying by 100 to get rid of the % signs and simplifying, we have ...

  24000 +50b = 48000 +20b

  30b = 24000 . . . . . . . . . subtract 24000+20b

  b = 800 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . divide by 30

Debra added 800 mL of 50% alcohol to her 2400 mL of 10% alcohol to make a 20% solution.
