X^2/16 + y^2/25 =1 The length of the major axis is: 5 10 25

Answer:

Major axis length = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The equation given is:

\frac{x^2}{16}+\frac{y^2}{25}=1

The above equation represents a standard ellipse of the form:

\frac{x^2}{a^2}+\frac{y^2}{b^2}=1

If a > b then 'a' is the semi-major axis length and 'b' is the semi-minor axis length.

If a < b, then 'a' is the semi-minor axis length and 'b' is the semi-major axis length.

On comparing the given equation with the standard form, we get:

a^2=16\\a=\sqrt{16}=4\\\\b^2=25\\b=\sqrt{25}=5

Here, b > a as 5 > 4. So, the length of major axis is twice the length of 'b' and is equal to:

Major axis length = 2\times b=2\times 5 =10

DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

x=45

Step-by-step explanation:

Then,

x/5(15)-47=28

Step 1: Simplify the equation on both sides

x/9(15)-47=28

5/3x-47=28

Step 2: Add 47 to both sides

5/3x-47+47=28+47

5/3x=75

Step 3: Multiply both sides by 3/5

(3/5)*(5/3x)=(3/5)*(75)

x=45

Step-by-step explanation:

he triangle is isosceles.

The leg-to-hypotenuse ratio is 1:StartRoot 2 EndRoot.

The leg-to-hypotenuse ratio is 1:StartFraction StartRoot 2 EndRoot Over 2 EndRoot. The nonright angles are congruent. The ladder represents the longest length in the triangle.

8. Why is it NOT useful to view science as a set of facts?
WITCHER [35]
Answer:
(assuming this isn't actually for math?) but one reason is bc science shouldn't be always taken as fact. science can be wrong.

Explanation:
not all but many scientists are skeptical and won't accept anything without proof, and even when things are accepted as right they can still be wrong later. example: humans once believed the planets revolved around the earth and that the earth was flat (even, some people still believe the earth is flat today....) but both those things are generally unaccepted today.

science shouldn't be viewed as fact always, because accepting everything as fact will lead to misassumptions and false information. it's like we should never take things for granted

Answer:

The standard form of the equation of a circle is,

                       (x - h)² + (y - k)² = r²

where the center is at (h, k) and its radius is r. Not sure what the equation would be sorry.
