This is probably not the way you would solve it but this is how I did it. Basically I multiplied all the numbers in each shape together.

= 7/4×(22 –x) =0

= 1.75 ×22 –x =0

= x=38.5

9) 15x² /7 =8x²/5

soln

= 15x²×8x²=7×5

=120x^4 = 35

= x^4 =120–35

x^4 =85

6) 9x²/4–4=0

soln

=9x²/4–4=0

=2.25–4=0

=4–2.25=0

=1.75
