If the gradient is 1, then

1 = (-3 - 4) / (<em>a</em> - 3<em>a</em>)

Solve for <em>a</em> :

1 = -7 / (-2<em>a</em>)

1 = 7/(2<em>a</em>)

2<em>a</em> = 7

<em>a</em> = 7/2
