1)If I'm on an elevator that breaks loose and plummets down the shaft, can I avoid harm by jumping at the last second?

Answer and Explanation:

1) If you were to jump at the last second, you would decrease the impact velocity by 7 mph. This is because most humans have a maximum jump velocity of 7 mph. You may still get hurt, but the damage would be significantly less than if you were to not jump.

2) Bathroom mats are made of fabrics, and fabrics absorb the moisture in the air. If you were to take a shower at any temperature, the fabric will soak up the moisture in the air, so when you touch it, it doesn't feel cold.

The tile floor, however, isn't able to store the moisture into itself. The temperature of the tile will be less than the temperature of your feet.

A 5.0-Ω resistor and a 9.0-Ω resistor are connected in parallel. A 4.0-Ω resistor is then connected in series with this parallel
lbvjy [14]
The 4ohm resistor is not parallel to any devices, so the current through it is the same as the total current through the circuit.

Apply I = V/R
I = total current, V = battery voltage, R = total resistance

Calculate the total resistance R of the circuit first.

R will be the sum of the 4ohm resistor and the resistance of the 5&9ohm parallel resistors. To find the resistance of the pair, you apply the “sum of inverses” rule:

R = 1/(1/5 + 1/9) = 3.21ohm

Now add the 4ohm resistor:
R = 3.21 + 4 = 7.21ohm

Now let’s calculate I = V/R:
Given values:
V = 6.0V
R = 7.21ohm
Plug in and solve for I:
I = 6.0/7.21

I = 0.83A

Please I need help........
LenKa [72]

Answer:

7.46 J/kg/K

Explanation:

The heat absorbed or lost is:

q = mCΔT

where m is the mass, C is the heat capacity, and ΔT is the change in temperature.

Given q = 15.0 J, m = 0.201 kg, and ΔT = 10.0 °C:

15.0 J = (0.201 kg) C (10.0 °C)

C = 7.46 J/kg/°C

Which is the same as 7.46 J/kg/K.

What is defect of vision
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer:

The vision becomes blurred due to the refractive defects of the eye. There are mainly three common refractive defects of vision. These are (i) myopia or near-sightedness, (ii) Hypermetropia or far – sightedness, and (iii) Presbyopia. These defects can be corrected by the use of suitable spherical lenses.

Which device increases or decreases voltage as electricity is transmitted from power plants to homes and businesses?
Leona [35]

Answer:Transformer

Explanation:All the other devices generate their own electricity apart from power line and Transformer, power line just carries electricity. A transformer can be used to step up or step down voltages from a source.
